Regularly Scheduled Folk Dances

  • Sundays: Veselo Community Folk Dancers, In Shape (Southside) Athletic Club, 2681 Willamette, Eugene. Lessons: 7:15-8:00 pm. Request dancing: 8:00-9:45 pm. Cost: $3. Contact: Linda at (541) 726-7548.
  • Mondays: Scottish Country Dancing Classes, R.S.C.D.S. style, ages 12 and over, Veteran's Memorial Hall, Green Room (Second Floor, North end), 1626 Willamette, Eugene. Beginners: 7:00-8:00.   • Mondays: Beginning Folk Dance Classes, Campbell Senior Center (open to all), 155 High Street, Eugene, 2:30-4:00 pm, $3, 541-682-5318
  • Tuesdays: Eugene Folk Dancers, Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street, Springfield. Beginning class: 6:45-7:45 pm (Sign up with center, Drop-ins $3.).   • Thursdays: Eugene Country Dancers (Heather and Rose) English and Scottish Country Dancing
    Veteran's Memorial Ballroom, Second Floor, 1626 Willamette, Eugene. 6:30-9:30 pm. (Offered in conjunction with the Emerald Valley Regency Society.) All dances taught. No partner necessary. Beginning dances from 6:30, becoming more intermediate as the evening goes on. Cost: $40 for a 10-week course. 2012 Sessions: WINTER January 12-March 15 (live music on March 15), SPRING March 22 - June 7, SUMMER June 14 - August 23, FALL August 30 - November 15. Walk-ins: $5.     NOTE: This group is a gateway to about 40 annual balls, weekend camps, and special events throughout the greater Pacific Northwest.

Out of Town Folk Dances

  • EVERY Friday in Portland - English Country, Burlingame Water Tower Dance Hall, 8936 SW 17th, Portland, 7:30-10:30 PM (begins wih teaching session). $9 General, $7 PCDC members, $6 seniors/students. Bring dance shoes to this hall.

Misc.

  • Rachel Carnes is starting up a dance program for babies and toddlers.  There is a strong folk dance component each week, and folks who like dancing already will love dancing with their little ones. For more info: www.sparkplugdance.org
