Ongoing & Upcoming EFS Events
The EFS Song Circle meets on the first Wednesday of every month.
Bring your own copy of the Rise Up Singing songbook.
If you are inspired to share a song that is not in that book,
bring 12-18 copies of the lyrics and chords.
A song circle is a fine place to bring your
guitar, ukulele, mandolin, or banjo, and you don't need to be a virtuoso.
This is a jolly bunch of folks who love to laugh as much as they love to sing!
EFS hosts contradances
usually on 2nd and 4th Saturdays
through the school year. (Sept thru June).
The dances start with a newcomers' session at 7:00
and the main dance runs from 7:30 to 10:30.
We will continue to dance in the Gym of the
3411 Willamette Street, Eugene, OR 97405
Please bring your own water bottle to the dances at Dunn School.
We do not have access to a convenient water fountain or sink.
EFS now sponsors a series of
English Country Dances
with wonderful live music
and inspired clear calling.
They usually take place from
7:00 to 9:00 pm (NEW TIME)
on the 3rd Friday of the month
Santa Clara Grange Hall (NEW LOCATION)
295 Azalea Drive.
Expect a laid-back evening of
pleasurable music and relaxed dancing on a soft dance floor.
Only $5 for EFS members ($6 for non members).
Organized by Robert, Leone & friends.
We invite you to join Lane County's first Morris side on Thursdays evenings from 6:30 to 7:30. When the weather is nice we practice at the gazebo in the Owens Memorial Rose Garden in Eugene. When the weather is not so nice we practice indoors at the Atrium Building at 99 W. 10th Ave, Eugene. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, call Patricia at 541-686-6117 or more information, or check out the Two Rivers Morris web site.
The Eugene Register-Guard posted a very nice article about the Eugene contra dance in their paper (Tuesday, 4 February 2014).
