Ongoing & Upcoming EFS Events
Cascade Contras Registration
is now open.
We have space for couples, single men, and single women.
At the moment, we have a gender balance waiting list for single women,
while we wait for more single men to register.
The Eugene Register-Guard just posted
a very nice article about the Eugene contra dance in their paper (Tuesday, 4 February 2014).
First Wednesday Song Circle
The next EFS Song Circle will be on Wednesday, March 5th from 7:00 - 9:00 at Carol's house.
Bring a copy of the songbook Rise Up Singing, and enjoy an evening of song with good friendly folk.
Feel free to bring a guitar, banjo, uke, or mandolin to gently accompany the singers.
Musicians of any skill level are very welcome to join us. A song
circle is really a great place to play that sweet old dusty guitar in
the corner, or ukulele, or that mandolin you've been plinking on.
For the singers as well as the musicians, it's not a performance, but
is more a revelry, a warm gathering of friendly fun people who like to
join together in singing favorite songs. We go around the circle and
everybody gets a chance to pick a song to sing, or you can pass... no
pressure. It's a sweet and welcoming bunch!
You can bring a snack to share at the break if you wish, but it's not required.
