January 11-15, 2012: PORTLAND OLD-TIME GATHERING: Old time music festival with concerts, workshops, jam sessions, and dances.
Feb. 16-19, 2012: The Olympia Old-Time Music Festival: "This is the fourth annual Oly Old-Time Music Festival, held in beautiful Olympia Washington. There will be two square dances, an awesome concert, workshops for various instruments, and tons of jamming all weekend long. This is a festival for old time musicians, square dancers, contra dancers, folk enthusiasts, shape note singers, and all others that can enjoy having a good old time. Usually fills up immediately. A make your own fun weekend of music dance and song, usually featuring swing, contras, and Scandinavian, all other types are welcome. July 29 - August 6, 2011: Lark in the Morning World Music & Dance Camp.: Lark Camp is an 8 day long celebration of music & dance in the Mendocino redwood forest every year at the beginning of August. There are jam sessions 24 hours a day, music & dance workshops with over 90 instructors, dances, parties and more. Workshops cater to beginners as well as professionals. Irish, French, Andean, Balkan, Cajun, American, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Latin, African, Swedish, English, Breton and more. Full camp is 8 days, half camp is 4 days.
August 12-19, 2012: Centralia Old-Time Music Campout: Centralia, WA. A week for musicians to hang out and jam. Camping with stream nearby for swiming. Bathroom/shower facilities. Suggested donation $60.
August 5-7, 2011: 8th Annual Pickathon Roots Music Festival: The festival showcases many of the nationally known roots musicians from the Pacific Northwest, including bluegrass, blues, swing, folk, Cajun, roots rock, alt-country, western, country, Celtic, jug-band, old-time. Weekend tickets only. Free camping/parking. Horning's Hideout, North Plains, OR.
Labor Day Weekend: Bumbershoot Festival: Seattle, WA. Big name musicians and artists. Three-day passes cost $80 to $420 in advance, more at the festival. Single day passes also available. "Since 1971, Bumbershoot has drawn artists representing the best in music, film, comedy, spoken word, dance, theatre, performance, and visual arts to the Seattle Center over Labor Day weekend. North America's largest urban arts festival, Bumbershoot takes place in the heart of the city at the 74-acre Seattle Center. Early October: Silver Falls Musical Gathering: Sponsored by the Corvallis Folklore Society and held in Silver Falls State Park east of Salem. "Campers' Camp" weekend of music, singing, informal concerts & dancing, amongst beautiful trees and nearby waterfalls.
New Years week: Northwest New Year's Camp "The Bash on Vashon": All ages, DIY "campers' camp" event, with dancing, workshops, music, and more. Sign up to lead workshops and dances.
