EUGENE FOLKLORE SOCIETY COVID SAFETY POLICY (adopted by EFS Board on 5/1/2023 )

The EFS Board has taken time and diligence to address the EFS health (COVID) policy at Contra dances. We understand any decision will not be unanimous, but the Board has taken a detailed look at the results of a COVID policy survey sent to members in April 2023. As a result of the answers, the Board updated our previous COVID health policy. This policy is subject to change if necessary to address a future health risk.

EFS is no longer requiring proof of vaccination, per the percentages of responses saying they would prefer it that way. Masking will become optional, again, per the percentages of responses in the survey. Please respect the personal choices of our participants regarding these choices, and all other personal choices. Regardless of these changes, please remember to stay home if you’re feeling ill, to show consideration for all our participants. The board will continue to monitor CDC and Oregon Health Authority recommendations. In addition, we will carry on providing masks and hand sanitizer at Contra dances.
